Training/Race Update

Registration for Door County Half Iron opened up January 1 and I am oficially committed and registered. I am traveling this year with a few friends. It will be nice to have some folks I know out there on the course with me. Though I loved having my hubby ride his bike with me on the run. Not sure I could have gotten through without him there. I'll have to dig deep this year.

I plan to register for the Got Energy Olympic distance tri and I have hopes of doing the Brice Prairie Time Trial but it is the same weekend as the Rochesterfest Oly. I may do both!! :) We'll see how training goes. The first annual La Crosse half-marathon is May 3rd and I am planning to do that as well. That's it so far. Ragnar Relay??? Maybe!

I am slowly getting back into training. First trip to the pool last Sunday and I got in 1000 meters. It felt pretty good actually. I have a Swim Clinic this week and next where I will learn some drills for both water and land. They are also taping us swimming and will critique us. That should be interesting!! I've been doing Indoor Cycling classes at least once a week but am shooting for twice. I may just stick to once and do another day of longer time on my trainer (now that I finally have a bike!). Running starts tonight! This week I have 3 short runs of 2 miles each planned. Same thing next week. I have a tri ptraining plan picked out but it doesn't start till February. I may work in a few of the eraly workouts sooner. I need to focus and STICK TO MY PLAN this year. Especially the swim workouts as I really struggled in the open water at Door County last summer. I hope to take 15 to 20 minutes off my time from last year so I will have to stay strong and sane! NO WATER DEMONS.

Well, as always.... Happy Training!
